The Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks turned in one of their most complete performances of the season Saturday night, shutting out the Anchorage Glacier Pilots 3-0 behind a dominant effort from the entire pitching staff.

Trotter set the tone early and never wavered, tossing seven scoreless innings while allowing just five hits and one walk. The right-hander needed only 80 pitches to navigate through the Glacier Pilots lineup, striking out one and keeping Anchorage off the scoreboard all night. Trey Harper followed with a scoreless eighth inning before Evan Rossi struck out two in a perfect ninth to shut it down.

The Chinooks struck first in the opening inning when Reese Vassar lined an RBI single to score Austin Young and give Chugiak a 1-0 lead. An inning later, Kai Butler delivered another run-scoring single, plating Samual Hess to extend the lead to 2-0.

The offense added an insurance run in the fourth inning. After Blake Allen reached and swiped two bases, Cal Wipf lifted a sacrifice fly to center field, bringing Allen home for the game's final run.

Butler paced the offense with a 2-for-4 night and an RBI, while Wipf went 1-for-2 with a double, RBI, and two walks. Vassar added an RBI single, and Hess and Luke Zuromski each doubled as part of the Chinooks’ six-hit night.

Defensively, the Chinooks backed their pitchers with a clean effort in the field and turned two double plays, helping preserve the shutout. Anchorage managed six hits but never advanced a runner home as the Chinooks dominated all around. They move to 7-3 on the season and will be back in Palmer to face the Miners Sunday night.
