The Chinooks wasted no time taking control, scoring twice in the opening inning. Reese Vassar came around to score the game's first run before Blake Allen crossed the plate moments later to give Chugiak an early 2-0 lead.

The lead grew to 5-0 in the third inning after Phoenix West ripped a two-run double to center, scoring Vassar and Tate Greene. Luke Zuromski followed with an RBI single to plate West and cap off another productive inning for the Chinooks.

After Anchorage got on the board in the fifth, the Chinooks answered immediately. West worked a walk before Drew Hurst was hit by a pitch, setting the stage for Zuromski, who delivered again with a two-run double to extend the lead to 7-1.

The Glacier Pilots made things interesting with a five-run sixth inning, trimming the deficit to just one run at 7-6. The Chinooks bullpen responded, however, as Collin Otte tossed 2.1 scoreless innings with three strikeouts before Paul Witkop worked a scoreless ninth to close out the win.

The Chinooks put the game away in the eighth. After Austin Young reached as a pinch hitter and Blake Allen lined a two-run double into the gap, Drew Hurst added two more RBIs when a ball was misplayed at third, capping a five-run inning that pushed the lead to 12-6.

Allen finished 2-for-5 with two doubles, two RBIs, and two runs scored, while Zuromski went 2-for-4 with a double and a game-high three RBIs. West scored three times, doubled, drove in two runs, and reached base three times. Vassar crossed the plate twice, and Tate Greene added two runs as the Chinooks made the most of six hits, seven walks, and 5 Glacier Pilot errors.

Drew McCartney earned the win after allowing one run over five strong innings before the bullpen held Anchorage in check the rest of the way. The Chinooks take a two game lead in the ABL and will be right back at Lee Jordan Field Saturday night to face the OIlers.
