Game 17 Summary
The Chinooks hosted the Peninsula Oilers for a doubleheader on Wednesday, with the first contest a re-schedule from the rained out contest of June 11th. Chugiak-Eagle River entered the day with a six and ten record, coming off their best offensive display of the season as they defeated the Mat-Su Miners 11 to 7 on Tuesday.
Brayden Adams started on the hill for Fish, but an error in the third inning led to three unearned runs and gave the Oilers a lead they would not relinquish. Chugiak-Eagle River put together four hits in the fourth inning and came within one run of the lead. That, however, was all the scoring the Chinooks could muster despite collecting eight hits in the seven inning game. The Oilers put up three more runs in the fifth. Jordan Jaffe and Oliver Degenhardt had two hits apiece for the home team.
Final Score: Oilers 6, Chinooks 2.

Game 18 Summary
Last week, Frankie Gulko pitched a shutout and won the game one to zero. In the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader, Gulko would copy that feat. The righthanded senior from Salem University pitched masterfully, holding the Peninsula Oilers to only four hits over six and one-third innings.
In the fourth, with no score in the game, catcher RJ Rickabaugh hit a two-out double, which was followed by an Oliver Degenhardt single. One run came across the plate, which was all the scoring done for either team, and was all the scoring needed for a Chinooks' win. Leadoff hitter Kade Smith collected two hits for Chugiak-Eagle River, which was one-third of the team's total for the game.
Gavin Alveti came in to relieve Gulko with two outs in the final (seventh) inning, earning a save and sealing the win for his teammate.
Final score: Oilers 0, Chinooks 1.
The doubleheader split gives the Chinooks a record of seven wins and eleven losses in league play. Their next game is against the Mat-Su Miners in Palmer on Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
