Early start paces Oilers past Nooks
A four run first inning was enough for the Peninsula Oilers to hold on to a 5-2 over the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks on Monday at Coral Seymour Field in Kenai. Chinook starting pitcher, Troy Lopez settled in and threw 3.1 innings for the Fish, but the offense couldn't quite break through off of Oiler starter, Eddie Leon who scattered five hits in six innings of work. Louis Zulaica would get two hits for the Chinook offense while Adyn Collins threw 2.2 innings of scoreless relief. The rains came as game one of the double header concluded and the second game was not played. Next up for the Chinooks is a meeting with the Bucs at home at Lee Jordan Field on Tuesday at 6 pm.
